Chadwick Alger
- International Organizations
Professor Alger has research and teaching interests focusing on multilateral
problem solving by international governmental and non-governmental
organizations, and the world relations of local communities and organizations.
Subjects of research have included decision-making in the UN General Assembly,
the role of non-governmental organizations in the struggle for human rights and
economic well-being, and the assessment of available 'tools' in the quest for
peace. He is the author of
Internationalization from Local Areas: Beyond Inter-State Relations,
and editor of The Future of the United Nations System: Potential for the
Twenty-first Century. He has published in journals such as Administrative
Science Quarterly, American Political Science Review,
International Organization, International Social Science Journal,
International Studies Quarterly, Journal of Peace Research, Public
Opinion, and World Politics. He has been President of the
International Studies Association, the International Peace Research Association,
and the Consortium for Peace Research, Education and Development, and has
received the International Outstanding Faculty Award from Ohio State.
